At the end of the day, your business website should be designed for your potential and existing customers, not you. For certain industries, this means that there may be an expectation that your business website will allow users to interact with it in some way, or that your website will contain resources for people to utilise. This section contains extensions that allow you to meet and exceed these expectations. Generally speaking, these sorts of extensions are "larger" than image galleries or custom forms and therefore, they take a bit more time to install and configure. The benefits are also larger, as they don't just make your website "pretty", they make it useful, valuable and interesting. ForumsEver had a long email conversation with a friend and each reply is kept in the message to the point where your single conversation is rather long? Forums are a great way to do the same sort of thing, except far more effectively. People can post (like a local noticeboard) and other people can reply to the posts. Conversations evolve, the number of posts increases and suddenly, you have an online forum where people are having hundreds of conversations at once. Its a great way to provide support (drop by our forum and leave a question - we'll get back to you) and its almost a requirement if you are wishing to build a business that relies on having a community of members. FAQs - Frequently Asked QuestionsDo you find yourself answering the same questions over and over? Do you have documents that you send out that contain the same information every time? Sounds like you need an FAQ extension! This extension allows you to write, edit and manage a series of FAQ articles to pre-answer your website visitor's questions. Many visitors will jump straight to your FAQ as it will usually contain all the answers they are after: who you are, what you do, where you do business, areas of expertise, prices, lead times and the like. Look under the "User & Community" menu at the top of this page to see the different ways FAQ's can be displayed to your users. All of our FAQs are controlled from a single place, yet we can display the same FAQs in different ways, depending on how we want them to look. Contact FormsHaving a good contact form or two on your website is absolutely necessary. People will browse the website of your business and if there's a contact form right there, they'll fire off a quick message. This gives you the chance to contact them and secure a new client. Additionally, if you ask the same questions of new clients over and over again, considering having a custom form to ask those questions up front. Most people will be happy to fill out a "booking form" or a "get a quote" form, which provides you with more information up front. |
