Every business website we do is entitled to a free image gallery as part of our deal.  However, most websites will want more than one because they are just so handy and visitors love them.  In the menu system under "Image Galleries", you can see a demo of every different image gallery we offer. When we talk about "thumb" or "thumbs", we are talking about "thumbnail images".  A thumbnail image is a very small version of  the bigger picture.  It is common to link to a big picture from a thumbnail, as the visitor gets a quick preview of what they're about to look at.

At any rate, here's a quick rundown of them all.

Classic Image Gallery

See The Demo.  The classic image gallery is exactly that - simple and straight forward.  It will produce a table of image thumbs (small images) with as many columns as required (3 wide, 6 wide etc).  I is very useful for breaking up long pages of text or providing quick links to pictures all relating to the same subject.  When pictures are clicked, they will "leap out" at the user to the middle of the screen - a rather nice visual effect.  This gallery works nicely with any size of image.

Flash Image Rotator

See The Demo. As the name suggests, this gallery will rotate through a list of images and display them.  As each picture changes, effects are applied so that images don't just "appear" - they are announced with some cool looking effects.   This gallery is very handy for automatically moving through a series of images, say for a series of product pics, apartment shots and case studies of your workmanship.  We think this is the best one for smaller size pictures.

Flash Simple Viewer

See The Demo.  This one is a mix between the classic gallery and the flash image rotator.  The pictures show in an unmoving panel and the thumbs line up horizontally beneath the panel.  This one does not autopilot, so the visitor will only see the images they care about.  Its not as good for passive selling and catching the eye because it doesn't autopilot.

Flash Postcards

See The Demo.  Great for large pictures, this is a slideshow, much like the old slideshow projectors from yesteryear.  Simple and straight forward, it does not autopilot. Instead, it provides navigation for users to move back and forward through the series of images.  It can be used for smaller slideshows, but there are better galleries for small pictures.

Flash Polaroids

See The Demo. Imagine taking a handful of polaroid pics and throwing them on the table.  That's what this gallery looks like.  It's very eye catching because its so different, but it does take up a lot of space.  Its very interractive, as a double clicked picture turns it into a slideshow.  As well as that, users can move the pics around and re-arrange them, which is strangely addictive for some reason.  Good for medium and medium large pictures.
